UNASO

The Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organisations (UNASO), formed in 1996, is an umbrella organization that exists to provide coordination and representation among civil society AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) in Uganda. These organizations comprise Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) which respond to the needs of the people both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in Uganda. UNHCO is a non Governmental Organization formed in 1999 whose goal is to improve the quality of life of all people in Uganda through a rights-based approach. UNHCO empowers health consumers and users to voice their concerns and participate in creating a sustainable health care delivery system. Their objective is to empower communities with knowledge of their health rights and responsibilities in a bid to promote better health provision. The mission of UNHCO is to advocate for health consumer rights and responsibilities. UNHCO perceives its mission as a fundamental component of the broader quest for good governance embracing transparency and accountability
