The CHAIN Resource Centre established after a situation analysis which was carried out in December 2005. This revealed low levels of awareness on HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care issues, hence the need to bridge the information gap with the community.
Target group:
The Centre targets various groups which include the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and their guardians, the women, youth in and out of school, University students especially those carrying out HIV and AIDS, TB and malaria related research, community leaders, religious leaders and the public at large.
Mission:
To have a community which is well informed about health hazards
Objectives:
To provide up to date information on HIV and AIDS, prevention, treatment and care other related illnesses like TB, Malaria.
- To fight against HIV and AIDS stigma and discrimination within the communities.
- Provide counseling to the members of the community
- Provide basic IT skills ,life skills training to the youth, OVC and their guardians
- To work with relevant stake holders to fight against HIV and AIDS stigma and discrimination within the communities.
